As some of you will be aware we had a serious fire here at the farm two weeks ago and the butchery, shop and chill room were all destroyed. Thankfully no one and no animals were hurt and the damage, while extensive, is limited to property. Through the support of many kind friends and customers we are continuing to trade and have plans well in had for setting up a temporary butchery at the farm in another of our existing food preparation areas while we progress the arrangements for the re-build, which are coming on well. In the meantime we are continuing to butcher our farm meats through the kindness of the Groat family at Devenick Dairy at Banchory-Devenick who have offered us space in their butchery and chill to enable us to keep working.
We will be at Banchory Farmers market tomorrow and will be at Deeside Food Festival in Cults on Sunday with a full range of beef (Belted Galloway), lamb (Hebridean Hogget) and venison (some good looking red deer from the hills of Donside). We are also doing a talk/demo at the festival as well as cooking up samples on our market stall. So please come along and pick n mix what you might like from either of these events. We have delayed the sending of the order form for open days to allow us a little more time to arrange the practicalities of working off-site and to do the market and festival before starting cutting for orders. We will update the order form and send it out early next week for delivery later next week, all products and details to be confirmed soon.
I apologise for any inconvenience and if you have any questions please do get in touch.
