As we continue to navigate these strange times, we are perhaps far enough into some new kind of way of being to be wondering whether there will be a return to the old normal or not. In our chatting and catching up with our community of fellow producers, chefs, retailers, cafes and customers over the last couple of weeks, amongst the human stress and the financial shock of the times, there is an expressed hope that perhaps some permanent good change could come from the awful situation. Food accessibility certainly jumped up the public consciousness and local, short, supply chains have been needed and proved desirable in a new way. On demand consumption and long supply chains certainly showed their fragility under pressure but once the pressures ease, perhaps they will simply bounce back as before? Given the shortness of human memory, an evolution rather than a revolution in the way we consume and feed ourselves seems the more likely outcome. In a time of turbulence though we are encouraged to see the strengthening of our local food economy and will willingly play what role we can to see that become a permanent state.

Back to Wark Farm and our next orders ... we will be delivering again on the 8th May and open for collections from the farm on the 9th May. We have our full range of Belted Galloway Beef available and the return of our Hebridean lamb to the order form including the lamb & wild garlic burgers which proved popular when we put them on the list last month. We have a limited range of pork (frozen) alongside the full range of our pies. Bacon, boiling gammons and pancetta and all on the list too.

Orders need to be submitted by Wednesday 6th May, 5pm with deliveries going our on Friday 8th to Deeside, Donside & Aberdeen. For farm collections we are open from 11.00 until 2.00 on Saturday 9th. Order link can be found below.
